Are you wondering where to do engagement pictures?
Here are five main things we like to go by when finding the perfect locations for our couples!
1. Engagement Pictures that feel like you
This is probably the most important one of them all. It’s important for you to choose a location that matches who you are. Where will you feel like yourself the most? And what story do you want us to tell in your photos? Do you enjoy the outdoors, or are you a homebody? These are things to ask yourself when you’re deciding on a location to make sure you portray the vibe you want.
2. Engagement Pictures locations with natural light
This is a huge deal when it comes to scouting out/choosing locations. Understanding the lighting situation, what side will the sunset be on, and how to maximize the time we have with that light is so important! Some locations may have mountains or tall trees that may block the sunlight earlier than on open fields, for example. It’s important for you and your photographer to be aware of these types of things so you can plan accordingly.
3. Engagement Pictures Ideas: Why Engagement Photos?
We are all about the details, obviously! Does the location you are considering have lots of detail or special aspects to it like “first date location” or does it involve a hobby like hiking, walks at the park/beach/city or maybe it is a bucket list location? When you are connected to the location you choose, it makes your session and gallery a little extra special.
However, one of the biggest factors to us is choosing a location where we are able to shoot in multiple areas or have a variety of backgrounds within the same area to diversify your pictures/gallery! We cannot stress this enough! We don’t want your gallery to be all in the same spot.
4. Road trip or Engagement Pictures near me?
We love traveling and it’s the perfect excuse to pin and mark locations that we LOVE! We are always driving/walking around the city and local areas to find somewhere new to create at and you can do the same too!
A cool date idea can be a day where you go out and explore/scout out for locations for your sessions. You can go back to places that are special for you or discover new places and make new traditions!
5. Are Engagement Photos Worth It? Ask your friends!
Tap into the resources around you! Getting location recommendations from your friends that have gotten a session done before can help too!
